Download the Pre-Burn Firebreak Checklist document here. This checklist is drawn up in compliance and in accordance with Section 12 of the National Veld and Forest Fire Act. The details are the minimum requirements to be considered by any person intending to make a firebreak. This document is intended to ensure the safe making of firebreaks and the protection of parties involved.
The completion of this document is also a prerequisite
for requesting Working on Fire Assistance.

In preparation of burn, make logistical arrangements, including:
- WoF team transport to and from the Lesedi Fire Station
- Arranging adequate water supply for WoF backpack sprays
- Arrange landowner fire resources as indicated on burn notification (vehicles, fire beaters, mop up crews etc).

Confirm that risk for continuing burn is acceptable by completing Part C of the pre burn checklist, adding AFIS rating. |
