Our Heidelberg team is consists of 8 members. And although the team lacks the numbers to make them as effective as they could be, they are well trained, have many years of experience working in the Heidelberg area and have become a valuable resource for our rural community. They are based at the Heidelberg Fire Station in Rensburg.

During the summer months the team is available to help farmers clear firebreak areas in preparation for the fire season and as fire season approaches they are available to help farmers with the burning of their firebreaks. They can be booked for these services by contacting Thabo (see contacts page) or visiting their office at the Fire Station. Please note that although their services are free to FPA members, you will need to pay for their transport (they use a preferred taxi service), their fuel for fire lighting and provide a lunch for the team for the day. So best to ensure you have a full day's work for them by coordinating with your neighbours, also helping to share the transport and food costs.

Fire Suppression Services

The team are also available to help with fire suppression of runaway fires. For this function they utilise the Fire Station transport and can be called out through the Lesedi Emergency Services (see contacts page).
