The 2026 fire season is not far off. Please clear as much vegetation from   
problem areas and ensure all your fire fighting equipmnt is in good working order.   
     


The Heidelberg Fire Protection Association is set up in terms of the National Veld and Forest Fire Act. As the HFPA, we represent landowners in an area where there is a high risk of wildfire which can destroy crops, grazing, buildings and infrastructure and endanger lives and livelihoods.

We Are:
  •  A non-profit organisation
  •  Staffed by volunteers
  •  Compliant with the legal requirements
      of the National Veld and Forest Fire Act

We Combat Fire Through:
  •  Co-operation between land owners
  •  Co-ordination of fire prevention activities
  •  Sharing of fire-fighting resources

We Are Not:
  •  Professional fire fighters
  •  Responsible for making fire breaks
      on behalf of members
